Update — Ice Storm
Added 2025-03-31 21:30:11 +0000 UTCSo, there were no updates yesterday, either on this story or my other story, Primeval Champion.
The reason for that is because the area I live in was blasted by a pretty bad ice storm and we lost power.
I live in an area with a very high water table, and the weather (nonstop rain and freezing rain) combined with the sump pump being out of commission (it uses electricity) mean that my whole living space (a basement apartment) was flooded very badly.
I did a lot to mitigate the flooding by hand-bailing and hand-pumping water all day yesterday (literally all day, good lord) and this morning I got lent a generator by a friendly neighbor, but the flood was still bad enough to leave a whole lot of work to do even though the power is now back online.
Mostly it's wet carpets. There are wet carpets everywhere. Everything is squishy and even with the right equipment (we always just called it a green machine, IDK what it's actually called) it's going to take more than a day to get things back to any semblance of normal.
As For What I Plan to Do With the Story:
I'm going to post two chapters to Royal Road (out of those posted here) to recoup the ones that I missed. For all tiers but the last, this will mean you get caught up on chapters.
The last tier will be set to 18/25, and I'm going to take a break from Primeval Champion until it's 25/25. I really wanted to be at that point, or close, by the time April rolled around, but this past month has been one setback after the next.
I still have one chapter written that just needs to be gone over before I post, so hopefully I'll still have a new chapter tonight.
Anyway, that's my update. Hopefully I'll have everything back to normal soon.
