So your feeling on him killing Kim Chul is right on the money and is one of the things the anime was kind of bad at showing. The English dub actually does better with it. Jinwoo PLANNED Kim Chul's death. While the first two times he killed a human it was done in self-defense or in response to the System threatening to kill him if he didn't, this time he did it because he felt he needed to. He needed a stronger shadow to help him fight the boss and he knew that even before Kim showed up. He purposefully knocked Kim away from the fight and he left Kim's sword next to him so he'd see it and take it when he woke up. He predicted that Kim would want to kill him and so he used that as a justification of self defense if he needed to. But he premeditated all of that considering it a necessary evil to get the rest of them out of there alive while also bolstering his own forces.
