Kikuchi/Yamamoto/Faulconer DBZ 45 COMPARISON

Hey guys! Just a little bonus where we look at a scene from our most recent EP: 45 and look at how the music changes the way the scene is composed. What's YOUR favorite out of all these soundtracks!?

I (Taylor) recently figured this out. I’m putting together a side by side of the real funi dub with og score for us to take a look at soon

That was not the Falconer score. The Falconer score is not available on Crunchyroll, and you will never, ever have a chance to say "there's no music" with the Falconer score, which never has a moment where there is no music because Funimation thought children did not have the attention span to sit through silent moments. You're not missing much by not hearing the Falconer score for this scene or this arc, really.

I love seeing how music can enhance and shape a scene. Yamamoto score wins my nostalgia award!

We're DEFINITELY looking to do this more! I want to show Karlii the difference between the different scenes in the saiyan saga, namek and all future sagas too! I know Faulconer has some KILLER soundtracks in cell/buu.

It would be cool if you guys could do these kind of comparisons for more of the best moments of the show when you make it to them.

Casey Wilson

I could totally see that about the Faulconer score.

I love how this scene is scored in all three instances. Kikuchi gives it that classic old kung fu movie feel while Yamamoto’s is a more dramatic and cinematic, John Williams-esque take which is also amazing. The Faulconer score for all of its criticisms gives quite a few scenes a more uncertain and mistifying feeling. The best way to describe it is “an ancient power from many centuries ago has risen” lmao
