When it comes to this anime, I can hear more emotion with the sub than dub.

I'm primarily a dub fan and can't really recognize emotion in voice acting for a language I don't understand, so sub is little better than muted audio for me. Even so, I personally voted sub despite liking the dub more (outside of a handful of scenes moments). For me, it comes down to consistency. They've already done six episodes of sub with select moments replayed in dub, so I'd prefer if they didn't change things up. If they had started in dub, I'd have voted for dub. But that's my point of view only.

Even sadder when you realize that probably 90% or more of the people voting don't actually speak a lick of Japanese. Whatever the case, will still enjoy the reactions just won't be the same for me personally. Wish it wasn't the "cool" thing to do to hate on Dubs all the time

2025-04-29 05:32:01 +0000 UTCI wish I could enjoy Dubs like when I was a kid watching Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and older shows like that, but I haven't been able to enjoy Dubs for a good 30 years now. Once I switched over to Subs for a while, probably back when I started watching DBZ Subbed because that's all I could get, even the 'good' Dubs started to sound off to me compared to the Sub (including even shows like Cowboy Bebop), as if the VA's were at times speaking off pace to fit the dialogue in, or just reading the lines without enough actual acting going on. Some Dubs are definitely worth the watch over the Subs, like Black Lagoon where they have good VA's AND the dialogue is actually more fitting than the Sub, but having watched some of the Dub of Eminence in Shadow, this is not a show I would ever want to watch the Dub of. Even for reactors I really like are watching a show I want to see reacted to, if it's a Dub (with the exception of Black Lagoon), I'm out on that reaction.
