And then I went to watch it dubbed and was just so utterly disappointed that it wasn't there. To me that makes the dub a non-starter in this instance, which makes feel bad for Cid's actor because clearly he puts his all into the delivery, but the sound design in the Japanese dub just elevates it a couple notches to the point where it feels like the English is just missing that special sauce. Out of curiosity I went and checked how the dub sounds on the blu-ray because sometimes they do some edits to the audio or retakes, and nope it's still not present on the blu-ray.

Pauses to discuss things is part of the reaction, and honestly the more you pause to talk about the show the more it legitimizes the fair use claims. 2: Don't sweat the details on what Shadow says when he uses his powers. His only goal in life is to look and sound cool. If it's not obvious how the magic effect is different, it probably isn't different. The next arch is my personal favorite.

2025-06-18 14:23:24 +0000 UTCYes, Princess Rose is the Princess of the Oriana Kingdom, hence her name Rose Oriana. Alexia is from Midgar, where the Dark Knight Academy they attend is. Perv is from the same kingdom as Rose, and is visiting Iris/Alexia's kingdom. I believe you had it right the first time, but the names and places can get confusing for some people lol.

You guys need to check out better that scene with the demon hand and in Cid's eyes Aurora/Violet is coming at her. Which was clear implication that Violet was the demon hand trapped in sanctuary. Still not read the novels myself and this is just my own specualtion with anime only info, so take it with grain of salt. Ps. UUUuu she's cursed.

I think the "core" was the body of aurora that was enslaved in the center of the sanctuary. I think the thing following him around was just a manifestation created to communicate with Cid because she was interested in him. The way I take the sacred kingdom arc, is that the whole thing is a metaphor. I believe that the right arm of diabo, Aurora, was the right arm of the demon king. It was said that Olivier was able to separate and then subjugate the right arm. However, this just might be wishful thinking on my part for a battle between Cid vs the demon king.

He lets himself get stabbed in the abdomen so he can bite out his opponents carotid artery just to prove a point and to look cool. Then he floods a city doing god knows how much damage with no fucks given. He is a horrible person but a really entertaining main character. I know there is a difference between all range and regular atomic, I think all range is more precise but I don't remember the details. All you need to is Cid likes to avoid using the same attack/fighting style twice in a short period of time. He likes to mix it up as much as possible for showmanship.

2025-06-17 17:50:22 +0000 UTCYeah, the ending of last episode was kinda random as they immediately retconned it here xD Wonder if it was some misunderstanding between episode directors, or we can interpret it with Cid building a scenario in his head by deciding not to go for it As for difference between All Range Atomic and just Atomic, in anime there isn't much noticeable difference. In source material, his I Am Atomic against Xerox didn't blow up a quarter of a city, just made a big explosion that broke through the ground up to the sky. If we want to headcanon rationalize a difference, Sanctuary was kinda like a pocket dimension, so we could say that it was stronger to the point where it destroyed a pocket dimension and spilled over to reality. And umm ackshually ☝️🤓, he didn't blow up a dam itself, but made a lot of water spill over. He certainly killed at least some people who were, say, sleeping on a ground floor, were in a cellar at the moment or just can't swim, don't let anyone tell you otherwise

2025-06-17 17:11:40 +0000 UTCWe finally got to one of the best names in the series. Ever since you learned about Po Tato and Skel Etal, I've been looking forward to your expressions at Perv Asshat. And yes, Iris and Alexia are from Midgar while Rose and Perv Asshat are from Oriana I recently read the first volume Eminence in Shadow's light novel, and found a few little changes interesting. One, despite Alexia having told Iris about Shadow's "I am atomic", she wasn't believed. Iris wrote off her testimony as delirium, saying no human had the power to do such a thing and that it had to have been the work of an artifact. And two, they didn't show Cid rescue that girl back on Earth. I think I heard that that was added in both the anime and manga though. In the light novel, it basically just had him training and then dying when he jumped in front of the truck. Unsure if there's mention of it later in the novels since I only read volume 1.
