2025-07-14 17:20:05 +0000 UTCIt may be late since you guys posted more episodes and I dont know if someone other pointed that out but i will explain about the doubt that you had about Ainz being trusted so much by Gazef before the battle. The point is the scene in the novel is that when Gazef arrives to the village Ainz still has his Death Knight with him and when asked to show his faces he replies that the mask that he is wearing is the meaning he is using to controlling the Death Knight so that's one thing that dont get addressed and that why nobody ask him cause it could be suspicious. And the Death Knight is already enought to not try mess with Ainz since one of them in their world is considered like a near Legendary form of undead that requires quite a lot of people adventurer or mage to be beaten.And whats more importantly it's not showed but After the battle since there are no body to be seen around of the Teocracy unit Gazef was told by Ainz that he cause them to flee but since the huge number and the precedent impression he hot of Ainz he didnt say it but he know that is not true at all. I hope i explained well since my english is not so good and i think i will need to read Overlord again sometime!

Ains Ooal Gown is the name of the guild he was master of and now he declared he will use the Guild's name as his own. The NPC followers knew that name was used for the Guild by the supreme beings as they do have memories when they were only NPC's in the game.

2025-06-20 18:08:00 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure Ainz/Momonga wanted anonymity until that fight where he saw how much weaker the Theocracy's forces were than him. He was being cautious, but now he's realizing he didn't need to be quite that much. It's been a while since I read the light novels, but this is where volume 1 ends, which ties into your comments about it feeling like this is where things pick up. But I'm pretty sure the novel had him addressed as Momonga more than the anime up until his declaration at the end up the episode, while the anime transitioned to the name of Ainz sooner. That led to him suddenly declaring his name is now Ainz feeling a bit off.

He did not clarify his name change to the rest of his followers until he returned to Nazarick at the end of this episode. Albedo was present when he declared his name to the villagers so she started calling him Ains at that point but the rest were unaware of this at that point.
