Stephanie LITERALLY sounds like a boy. She is a gem in the voice acting world and can reach heights in her voice that MOST women can't. Collens voice is like scratching a chalk board to me. Even random people who dont watch cartoons or anime at all find colleens voice unpleasant. Kai will never compete

2025-07-25 15:03:23 +0000 UTCWhile I appreciate the intent of whoever created the edits, the main thing I don’t like about them is from a technical perspective. The execution can be quite jarring and abrupt, volume levels off, lack of finesse and connective tissue, tonal whiplash etc. I guess the choices too. Sometimes it feels like a falconer greatest hits album. I end up not even watching the show and instead hyper focusing on the audio because it pulls me out.

I’m glad y’all took the time to look at so many different editions. There are some yammamto scores during the Goku vs cell fight that I think are one time placements as well.

2025-07-25 12:19:47 +0000 UTCI love the Yamamoto ost itself BUT it doesn't match the scene imo, it feels quite jarring maybe how they implemented it and it isn't as smooth as the faulconer Gohan theme along with that beastly scream it gave me goosebumps as well as the original Unmei no Hi" ("Spirit v. Spirit").

2025-07-25 06:42:32 +0000 UTCYamamoto has some of the best OSTs I've heard in anime but Falconer is great too with this version of Kai, the problem I've always had with falconer was with OG Z where the tracks were SPAMMED and mashed up with almost no scenes with silence, it is very jarring but as a kid you don't really care for that stuff. A lot of my favourite scenes are a mix of Yamamoto and Falconer so I understand it can be a hard choice for some people haha, this version of Kai is a good compromise because Z is unwatchable to me with its dialogue, pacing and music direction, even with nostalgia goggles

It's tacky, but it's iconic, and it is the defining feature of the original funi dub version, more than the music or Gohan's excessive inner thoughts. My favorite music for Gohan's transformation will always be the original Japanese song, Spirit Vs Spirit.

2025-07-24 17:34:34 +0000 UTCI'm glad that we're able to watch a story that has been through so many wonderful renditions. Gohan losing it and going super saiyan two was phenomenal! Cell brought out Cell Jr's, tormented Gohan's friends and killed Android 16. He wanted him to get angry and now he's done it. The smile wiped off his face shows he never could have expected this!
