2025-08-04 04:53:17 +0000 UTCSo you're not crazy and didn't miss anything about Zeke's plan. These past few episodes are a bit hard to follow with all the time skipping going on. The thing to keep in mind is that in order to do a limited rumbling they need to keep the Founding Titan separate of the royal blood line, otherwise the vow renouncing war comes back into play. Zeke's plan is to do a limited rumbling with Eren, as a deterrence. to show the rest of the world what would happen if they try to attack the island. Since Zeke only has 1 year left they would need a titan with royal blood on the island to maintain the threat, which is why part of his plan was for Historia to eat him, then one of her kids eat her, etc. Separately, they would also have to pass the founding titan from Eren down at the same time. This would allow them to continue to use the rumbling as a threat in order to protect the island. The past couple episodes have been showing the discussion going on over the last few years as the main crew tried to come up with other ways to resolve the conflict. Now that Eren went and attacked Marley the island is expecting a counter-attack from the world at some point. Hange making the decision to go with Zeke's plan was more of an admission that they haven't come up with any other ideas, and basically are out of time and options, not necessarily that she's on Zeke's "side" or even agrees with his plan. Eren's actions have forced her into making that decision.
