2025-08-05 20:41:58 +0000 UTCThere is actually a lore reason why a bunch of important characters have similar features; not going to say it tho ^^ Mary has crimson red hair as does Midgar royalty like Iris and Klaus. The way Delta's hair is super similar to how Aurora's hair is. How Beatrix and Alpha look super similar to Olivier. How Cid and his sister and mother have raven black hair (and Cid has his crimson eyes, though not always - that's another subtle lore hint). All those are deliberate character traits the author has set up this way. It's actually insane that they replicated this so faithfully in the anime. I know you watch a bunch of different shows and probably don't have the head space to analyze all this stuff in detail (and it is all very easy to miss too), but if you dive deep into it there is a lot more story the anime tells in it's presentation and character design than just what is happening on screen.

He is NOT manifesting reality in any way - he is simply a one-track-mind bumbling fool that doesn't care about anything else. That is the whole joke so far. Unless the author decides to actually make the whole "he is manifesting reality" a thing in any novels going forward, this theory is hogwash and I cringe hard everytime people call what happens "manifesting".

Everyone in this world is living in the reality that the world is while Shadow/Cid is weaving the story that turns into reality for everyone else. That is at least what I've been able to grasp. There is also the possibility that he is just, somehow, connected to the world and is shown what can, and will, happen but is too ignorant to identify it as such and just goes down one of the many paths shown that he enjoys, thinking that it's all just his ad-libbing. Though I think most people would agree with the idea that he is somehow creating his own story and, due to his overwhelmingly powerful magic, manages to make it all real.
