Videl and Goten share the same VA. It's a great tidbit when they interact with one another. Goten going SSJ from sparring with Chi-Chi is such classic Toriyama humor. I think outside of Frieza she's definitely the transformations biggest hater.

2025-09-09 00:47:18 +0000 UTCIm pretty sure the big idea is that Vegeta did state with Nappa in early DBZ, that Saiyan-Hybrids are capable to wield much more power than pure blooded ones, which we've seen proof because of Gohan and Future Trunks. I don't remember if the episode was filler or not.

2025-09-08 23:01:05 +0000 UTCThe flashback actually makes Goten look very weak since Chichi's power level is maybe 200 if she's seriously highballed and she was giving him a hard time and wasn't even injured when he hit her with an uncontrolled 50 times power boost. I guess fighting with Trunks got Goten to the point where his strength can shock Gohan. He actually didn't hit Gohan once with the rocks and didn't land a hit during their brief sparring match. He benefited from the shonen trope of the weaker opponent's surprise power making the stronger opponent go on the defensive for a short time despite being the stronger of the two.

2025-09-08 16:42:02 +0000 UTCI always had the sperm theory as well but awhile back there was an interview (this isn’t a spoiler because it doesn’t get mentioned at all in the show) where Toriyama talked about the specific cells a saiyan has (S cells) and the more of those cells the more potential I believe. And we know from the saiyan saga that a saiyan/human hybrid creates a powerful warrior

2025-09-08 16:40:14 +0000 UTCI agree with Karli there, while I’ve grown to love the Goten SSJ joke, I still think it devalues the form itself. It’s never explained as to why Goten is so strong. Many of us chalk it up to training during peace time + genetics.
