2025-09-28 22:30:11 +0000 UTCI saw a good description of 86 as being the baby of AOT and Code Geass, it’s personally in my top 2 with AOT and also has some of the highest rated anime episodes, from a direction standpoint 21 of the 23 eps have an 8 or higher, 6 of them 9 or higher with the last 2 being 9.7s and I personally think EP22 is the best composed anime episode I’ve ever seen

The movie was the theater release of the two special episodes combined together with a extra post-end screen scene on top of a credit scenes. IMHO, you guys should watch the movie edited version instead of the two specials. P.S. Floch is goated in his own way but not for the reason you guys think. I can explain it later when you guys make the last post of the series.

2025-09-10 22:10:59 +0000 UTCWhat's after Attack on Titan, nothing, people are right. AoT completed something I wanted in Anime for decades but just couldn't put my finger on until it happened. I feel my anime watching career was complete after the series. Only started 2 new anime in the last 2 years since AoT ended and that's out of sheer boredom rather than any true desire.

2025-09-10 21:48:09 +0000 UTCI second this opinion. Naruto is fun to watch, but has low intellectual depth. The only anime series that compare to AOT in depth are Vinland Saga, and some classics like Ghost in the Shell and Monster.

2025-09-10 20:46:14 +0000 UTCIMO, people consider Naruto to be top 3 in their ranking mostly due to nostalgia. I really liked Naruto but they are not in the same league. The core strengths of AoT are consistency and parallels to our own reality. Remove titans/Ymir and you have the blueprint for like 80% of war in the world. Two nations oppressing each other and exchanging roles to the point they both forgot why they hate each other over several generations. The equation of Marley oppressing their former oppressor, Eldia is a story that our world is too familiar with. My issue with naruto is the lack of depth on many angles, which I won't spoil, but also the lack of consistency. I'd say that AoT is slightly below One Piece in term of foreshadowing and looping back story elements that readers saw as mundane.

I love Naruto (also iirc Shippuden has 500 episodes, the first series has fewer but they are 2 separate but connected series) Bleach and Naruto are more comparable with each other, but AOT is just in a league of it's own. (And I've been watching anime since the 80s)

2025-09-10 16:14:34 +0000 UTCSorry to burst your bubbles, but the 2 specials are the movie. (apparently with some edit differences) the last part was supposed to be released as a movie but due to high demand and delays, they did us a favor and gave us the first half before it was all completed.
