well, about the discussion about jamming: Karlii is 100% correct the subtitles are pretty inaccurate sometimes (you´ve already noticed, at least where they got the name wrong). In the german subtitles, since general terms and names are not translated, they are talking about "cast-jamming", aka the process of interfering with the casting-process of a spell. the phrase itself has nothing to do with CAD's (at least not directly, and doesn´t refer to it), it just sounds similar. The fact that the subtitles in this case are plain wrong in english doesn´t help either. They're probably, just as it has happened a LOT recently, AI generated (remember the incident where crunchyroll-subs had parts of AI-response in it by accident? I think that happened in the recent season of Re:Zero iirc... that´s probably the case here as well). And voice-recognition (let alone AI-based voice-recognition) has a tendency to be inaccurate (and that it translated from japanese to english probably makes things worse, considering it tries to translate an english term from japanese back to english). tl;dr subtitles are wrong, they´re talking about "cast-jamming"

It has an interesting world, with magic being a "modern technologie" that provides more variaty instead of just the 5 elements (fire, water ...), the politics and much more. All that is also probably the reason people simply ignore the sister stuff, especially after watching the first movie.

Just keep watching with a focus on the setting and political tension and it'll get better!

The animation in season 1 is fantastic and the overall story had potential but the horny shit really brings its ratings down a lot for me because its just so excessive. I am going to believe the others that say it gets less common later because my vague memory of it suggests something along those lines but I just don't think it was anywhere near the best option on that poll. Generally I agree with or understand poll results on shows to watch, but this is the one I don't get at all.

2025-10-26 14:41:20 +0000 UTCI will say that, like pretty much everyone commenting here, I agree with Karlii about all the horny content of this show, and also, I don't know anyone who watches it for the horny shit/fan service. The show WILL cash out on all the potential you see it having, and the horny content will be more comedic in nature, regardless of necessity. One thing I will say, that I think this show does poorly, is that there will be some exposition or tidbits of information that will be really poorly explained and only ever mentioned once without enough context to understand it. I haven't read the light novel, so I don't know if things are better explained there, but just be prepared for it. Thankfully, all things I can remember that don't ever get properly explained aren't necessary things for the show, they're just interesting little bits that hint at more of the world and accomplishments/past of certain characters. I also read a comment urging you to find a site with good subtitles and I HEAVILY agree with it. There will be a LOT of expo dumps coming and there's also a lot of technobabble coming as well that you will miss if you don't have subtitles, so please try and find a good website if you can. Finally, I would also like to request that you listen to the different characters in Japanese to hear their voices, I think you might have some interesting thoughts on the voices they've used. My reasoning behind this is that I find that the Japanese voices are very interesting as they go from super cringe and stereotypical to perfectly fitting and aids in showing who the character is.

There will be moments of it later on, of course, but it was definitely at its worst in the early parts of the first season when they were introducing the cast. Either that, or I just got used to it. I'm pretty sure it's the former though.
