What Juumonji did was to put a barrier at the end of his arm to keep him from bleeding out. I like at the end when Masaki assumes that it was the 2 students of the master clans, when Saegusa didn't really do much. The spell Miyuki cast, Niflheim, is one of the hardest magics to cast. Most mages that can cast it, cannot control it. That's probably why the terrorists were freaked out about it.
