Draconian Remnant 68

Damage Control

Comments

This has to do with her abandonment issues and her wanting someone to want her doesn't it? Goddammit Raven.

Scott H

Like the rest of the story and wonder where it will go! Especially the thing with Cinder its so fucking funny.

Moonkiller24

Hey! First of all new Partreon supporter and love ur work! Honestly as much as I enjoy this story (and I really do, I mean im literally paying u for moar lol), the whole thing with Yang was just a giant disappointment and I hope they get back together eventully cause without that the whole relationship with her felt pointless.

Moonkiller24

Um, Nick, I didn't even read your comment. I was talking to the guy (Will Brown) who says it's in human women's nature to want to be raped and that no means no is somehow propaganda.

Alex Collyer

I think there’s a misunderstanding. When I said she I meant Yang. Whatever, that’s what safe words are for. That aside I’ll not bother trying to defend myself as I’m already guilty in your eyes. So I’ll finish with ‘go fuck yourself’

Nick

The fuck kind of relationships have you been in that your partner said no and you kept going. That's fucked up. Like a frat boy raping someone and going she totally wanted it. She said no and struggled against me but I could totally tell she wanted it. It wasn't because she was scared of what id do if she fought back harder, she tottally didn't fight back harder cause she was secretly into it if your partner says no or stop you fucking better well stop unless you have some kind of bdsm contract that says our stop and slow down words are no longer stop and slow down.

Alex Collyer

Pyrrha's not saying Yang would, but that someone with that fetish might, which, to the ex white fang member raised on the fear of what the humans would do to her if she was caught, is absolutely horrifying.

Are they mistaken with Yang's intentions? It just seems so... OOC

Tyric Gaias

The situation where they are captured by bandits, one of them is charismatic, and Yang decides to screw him to get her rocks off, likely telling herself she's going to turn the tables afterwards, but is just as likely to turn traitor after finally getting what she wanted.

The chance is higher than it would be for most broken up couples since they will be in the presence of each other for a few more years to come. And they will be in situations where it might just be their teams alone for extended periods of time, so they will interact a lot. Plus the environment they will be in is one that would accelerate maturity in most people.

"Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back." I recently learned of the full quote and thought I would share in case you or anyone didn’t know, since you brought up the Double edged quote being somewhat stupid a while back IIRC. Another one is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” ==== I have a question about part of the chapter I would like you to clear up please. I’ll post the section I am Unser of under the following question. Is the situation they are referring to Yang wanting him to force himself on or or are they referring to something else? At least in most situations, and I do not believe that Yang would be the type to give into temptation that easily,” she commented idly. “What situat-” the Faunus started to question, before realization struck. “Oh. Oh god. I think I’m going to be sick.”

I really want to argue in Yang’s defense on this. I think back on my adolescent years, and I really thought I had it all figured out. Our relationships at that age (or at least mine) were generally brief. we’re still trying to figure out what we want, and the do’s and dont’s of relationships. I feel her lack of experience in dating is painfully (cringe) similar to a very brief relationship I had in which communication and signals were all over the place. She will eventually recover and learn from this as we all do. So in my opinion the author did a great job typing up teen drama. But for the love of all that’s holy keep it sparse

Nick

Yes, that's true, and it would be a good reason to end the relationship. But that doesn't say anything particularly bad about Yang. Human behavior in this area is ridiculously complicated, and expecting a (typical, not especially self-aware) teenage girl to notice and understand her own behavior is like expecting a grade schooler to do calculus. It usually takes many years of dating experience to figure this stuff out on a conscious level. But what I was really objecting to was the characterization of Yang's behavior in the last chapter as some dark, BDSM rape play thing. Wanting your guy to keep going while you voice insincere protests and ineffectually pretend to struggle is completely normal behavior for a teenage girl, and Remnant doesn't have our modern affirmative consent laws. It isn't even kinky, it's just a normal form of foreplay. Now if Yang wanted to be slapped around, called names and 'forced' while she actually for real tries to get away, that would be serious rape play and something to be concerned about.

E. William Brown

I honestly hope they do get back together when both grow some more.

Tyric Gaias

Is that what you got from it? It seems to me that Jaune was really pissed off the Yang wouldn’t listen to him. His words seemed to go in one ear and out the other. Communication is huge for any relationship to work, on both sides. It’s been made very clear that Jaune is fucked up, he knows he’s fucked up and he’s put very strong emphasis on his need to be very clear on what he wants and expects, that’s he not going to follow a typical “guy” script. However, Yang didn’t internalize that, still putting him in a certain predetermined box in her mind of what he should be, not what he is.

Tyric Gaias

...and here we have a great example of how messed up Jaun is. What Yang actually did last chapter isn't some dark sexual kink. It's completely normal female behavior. Probably sixty percent of any random sample of women would do some variant of the same thing, and men are supposed to know this and respond appropriately. In our society 'no means no' propaganda and affirmative consent laws completely ignore this dynamic, but that doesn't change human relationship dynamics. All it's done is make people reluctant to acknowledge their own behavior. But Pyrrha knows how crazy it would be to freak out over a girl expecting you to see through her teasing and respond to her feelings instead of her words, because that's totally normal. So instead she assumes Yang was going for some hardcore rape fantasy thing as their first time, which would be kind of crazy outside a BDSM meetup. One wonders how she's going to react when she discovers Yang was actually doing a perfectly normal 'invite the hot guy to seduce me and make me like it' routine instead.

E. William Brown

Oh man, Yang is gonna have a rough time of it.
