People tend to look at enforced loyalty and start throwing accusations, but under the right circumstances I would be willing to sign a loyalty magic contract. Even if it didn’t come with the benefits the stamp gave.

Enough to serve as a cautionary tale to some other, better version of ourselves on their path to a greater lesson. Not the least of the ramifications that we’re somehow worse or lesser for failing.

It’s really obviously eating him super hard to know that two versions of him managed to truly succeed with their Hail Mary plans whilst he cut his losses and ended up sacrificing countless lives.
