MHA 104

Having a Blast.

Comments

This is not a villain attack. This is the opening sortie of a civil war trying for a decapitation strike. And so far it is wildly successful. For the cost of a pile of idiots AfO has killed dozens of heroes and the scandal might well destroy UA and cause mass panic.

Thomas Carter

Normally I'd agree, but with how much control the Hero Commission has over stuff like that, and how much they already suppress for the sake of powerful heroes, I imagine he's fairly secure That's not to say he won't be in trouble, because what they can suppress, can just as easily be revealed, if he goes against them

Mr Mouse

I popped in the thread in qq to see the reactions to the chapter that was posted there and alot of people at the bargaining part of grief for rip shroom girl. Ideas of maybe she lives as a mushroom head thing if she can regenerate on her own and thats horrifying to think about happening if your not deadpool. Then you got the buy waifu for rez if its in their skillset. Interesting to see people thoughts going on there.

Honestly it sounds more like the Hero Commision are the dictators of Japan. Like the rest of the world knows and is watching but somehow the regular citizen doesn’t know, or “doesn’t know” anyone that doesn’t toe the party line gets discredited. Can’t wait to see that fall apart and bite the idiots in the ass. You would most likely end up with a situation much more dire than what is happening in the current world were lots of people are seeing first hand how corrupt our major “news” networks are and turning more towards independents and places that have proven the hard way that they are mostly a-political.

On my count, we have 7 confirmed student kills; Asui poisoned and down for the count; Tokoyami stabbed in the torso and down; Kurioro lost an arm and down; Manga MIA; Shishida fighting and gone Berserker; dozens of dead Pros; Ragdoll snatched, Pixie-Bob lost an arm and down and Mandalay severely wounded and down. We’ve only seen 5 4-man squads so far, so that 7/25 dead with 4/25 out of the fight and Bondo gave up and hunkered down. It’s been a clusterfuck.

Azrea

So, if this was public, you'd be right in the effect would be large, but you're underestimating the Societal Momentum of MHA Japan, so it wouldn't be 9/11 level changes. In Canon the Hero Commission is corrupt AF, prioritizing maintaining the status quo and an entire remote city gets wiped out six months from this point in Canon, attacked by Villains, and, while bad, things still don't change that much. It takes a major metropolis being disintegrated for people to actually give a damn, combined with EVERY top level prison opening up and vomiting out its Villains, at which point society promptly went post-apocalyptic.

As I mentioned last chapter, this can only end in total war in the streets. Imagine the equivalent terrorist attack as an entire high school classroom plus 2-3 smaller police precincts (Whole precincts worth of on duty officers, minus support staff). We're dealing with a minimum of dozens dead in a coordinated terror attack on a presumed secure location, by the same organization that attacked the USJ AND unleashed Nomus on Hosu. We're talking 9/11 level social changes from this event.

KunouNoHana

Do we have a running tally of the students who we know died so far? I remember Aoyama (Sparkles), Komori (Shroom?), and the knife-hand dude. I'm sure I remember reading a few more having died.

Thomas

Honestly expected Izuku or Bakugo to die in this attack due to someone else fucking up. It seems like the kind of thing they would do, try to stop someone from fucking up only to die trying.

Zerak

Bakugo is for sure best girl!

Alice

I really am not seeing how this event doesn't end in this no longer being a My Hero Academia fic and turning into a grimderp caricature of it, you've already pushed so much lethality into it that Japan should be a smouldering crater at this point regardless of All Mights presence. This feels to much like omniscient antagonist always wins anyway bullshit to enjoy now.

Klever Kilvanya

I got patren specifically because the komori hook I have caught up. I am keeping the subscription because the wild ride ain't over. Congrats Leecifer, you got me hook line and sinker. Like the many coffins of class 1A and 1B students soon sinking into the ground. I am most looking forward to Denkifer's inevitable screaming into the void over this fuckup.

Israel Perez-Rolo

I wonder if the press/public will get a hold of more detailed information regarding these attacks and if there would be outrage over our boy killing villains. I mean, a teenaged Hero in Training having a body count higher than most villains is sure as hell to shock the public. Hell, All-For-One could leak it with the intent of turning the public against him.

Excellent chapter, and I really enjoyed seeing my personal best girl in action here (Jiro, not Aizawa or Bakugo). Really seeming like things are now headed for a crisis point and climax

Rosenheim

Damn that was a great chapter! It is great to see the pros actually doing their job to the best of their abilities, hopefully inspiration strikes you again soon! Also Aziwas guess is not correct on how the MC power works but is wierdly spot on on the inherent PTSD. I honestly want to see a therapy session or two for the class, it would give the readers a chance to see the thoughts of the cast and give you a way to push certain characters into a more realistic(?) world view. And as crappy of a person as ragdoll is, I really don’t wish all for one on her.

I am sure Nezu would have a reporting schedule and if no one reports back he will send help. But who knows what the intervals of reporting are. Plus a traitor could be reporting back everything is fine. Or someone is faking it.

Zerak

Well, what were the chances of it happening TWICE? Also, Heroes are usually on or off duty, with very little overlap, while Support Items normally have a lot of red tape involved, so it's far easier to just have an approved 'Costume' instead of carrying gear when you're not ready to Hero, similar to an off-duty police officer not driving around in a cop car. Now, personally, having that backup seems opposite, but this world has been very peaceful for the last couple decades, and Heroes have grown lax.

Fixed! Thanks. Mind went 'explosion person' and I typed the wrong name.

Ohh damn, this was a really dope chapter, you didn't hold out on the hype, this is the good stuff. I chuckled at Eraserhead wearing the gauntlets after he told him that they weren't needed. Also surprised that no one had their own types of modular armor. It's not only logical but also should be a thing since they clearly make decent money. Also, for real, communications got knocked out again. and no back up in sight. shame shame shame

Big ToFu

his hands smarting a little, Bakuda sent himself flying into speardude,

Thawsta

From now on, all training excursions from UA will have the lead teacher holding a continuous signal generator, where if communications are interrupted, an alarm goes off in the nearest Pro-Heroes’ agencies, as well as Nezu’s office
