I agree that SGU is a nightmare, and this is much improved, but there's a bit of a plothole when Lee goes to pick up the limestone and doesn't seem to close and reopen the gate before coming back to the ship. Stargates can only go in one direction at a time, he would need to close and dial in the ship from the surface first.

I know absolutely nothing about Stargate but with the way you write, you fill in all the knowledge a reader needs in order to know what's going on. I never felt lost once during this entire glimpse and that's a talent that's hard to find nowadays. Thanks for the great work!

Did he like get tripped up by tech on the spaceship to make him such a dipshit or was he that comical evil in the actual show cause god i would wonder what the hell is the writing for him. Also very interesting idea that the only way to get enough points to leave for lee is make sure all the character inside that ship raise their tiers instead of just stamping them right away. Resource manage away alienlee.

2023-08-02 07:03:34 +0000 UTCIn my defense, after episode 8 (where they have to use low-level time travel to save themselves from all dying because they didn't bother to boil the water they collected in episode 6, they're that dumb), I sort of had it on in the background while I did college assignments. It's why my memory of it isn't the best, and I remember the season 1 finale (the arrival of the Lucian Alliance forces) as being part of the premise, likely mixing it up with Star Trek Voyager.

They did end up killing someone to close the leak, and spent literal hours wandering that desert, Matthew passing out alone, and only helped by a sentient whirlwind made out of bugs that contacted him through a dream and somehow pulled water out of the sand to help him out.

Like what he did several times already, but for everyone to hear, so they all realize how dumb Young is being, and how he almost killed them all several times by pretending to be an expert

2023-08-02 05:07:40 +0000 UTCI think I watched one episode of that and only because I liked Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time so I looked up the actor on IMDb. I loved the reaction from ~cifer at the end. With incredibly badly written characters and plot holes that you could navigate a galaxy through this has to be a hell for him second only to a sitcom.

2023-08-02 04:20:31 +0000 UTCFeeling a lot less happy about this particular glimpse. Mostly because I know nothing about the show itself, most of the cast seems really weak and or not that interesting, and taking over an eternal for the MC makes things lack tension.

2023-08-02 04:20:27 +0000 UTCSGU the show that finally started to find its identity and get decent and was then canceled. Honestly, not sure how to feel about this one. I can see a lot of potential in this whole idea, but at the same time the superman-each main character kind of ruins it. There is no tension and I’m more reading this as a comedy than anything else. If it was one of the cast getting the power or an SI as one of the survivors slowly growing in power or something along those lines it would read better. Also if your going to bash characters at least bash all of them. Rush was a conniving liar that stranded them all to get his name in the history books and had an inferiority complex that you can see from space. Now this is just my initial two cents so take this all with a grain of salt.
