Doomed Skies

The company is first and foremost about entertainment. If they wanted him to gather as much as possible they not have removed his memory of the deal. The reason why they would put restrictions is because it would make the MC have a hard time or a mental breakdown in the right circumstance. Class A (Devils) would want him to recruit anyone he can for the Blood War, but the Class B (Fae) are just dicks who want to fuck with people.

Since the company likely gets copies of anything he grabs (thus the missions) I doubt they'd reject letting him grab people. Worst comes to worst they don't have to copy anything useless he grabs, but I doubt they'd turn down a source of Templates or other goods. Really it looks like space and supplies will be the real bottlenecks on saving people. Which means spending more time doing missions and also trying to avoid the doom of the world so they can leave people behind.

What are you going to do for jumps that give out a free power, like so far free perks have been free, but some jumps like Railgun let you roll and get an Esper power based on what you roll. Edit: A sinister thought occurred to me, this is still the same company as the WC, and since he has no memories of why he is there it’s safe to assume is the Fae, and they could totally screw him over by only allowing him to get females into his pocket dimension for whatever contrived reason. This would be devastating, because imagine you try and save the shield hero only to fail at the door of pocket dimension, specially if you are getting dragged back in and they can’t pass. This would fuck him over in 2 ways, first any plans to turn his poker dimension into a shelter would not work, second of all any mission regarding saving people won’t work if they are male, which will suck. Depending on how bad the situation is when he finds out if he can’t get guys in could serve as a severe mental blow, which is something Class-B is all about. Imagine being on a week long or month long world, and you grow a deep friendship cultivated through hardship with someone, only to learn at the last possible moment you can’t let them enter your pocket dimension. They might have even not had a plan B in the event that fails. Granted I would like the idea of making the Sky Block a refugee more, though the limitations of not being able to do that would also be interesting. Maybe even having a limit on how many people he can have with him and needing to use points to allow more.

There is a non-zero chance they end up in Highschool DxD during the Great War, before the Big G died. One of the missions would be to save him. I wonder what Integra would think of that.

Holy crap, this was amazing. I could feel the utter despair that BlockLee was feeling upon seeing a world end because he wasn't strong enough to help out in a meaningful way. And then having it happen again in Hellsing Abridged, where there was a glimmer of hope for him to succeed, just really twisted the knife. Sir Integra as a traveling buddy isn't a bad idea. She's certainly got the level of brass balls to deal with the evil bullshit in the multiverse, and I'm sure she'll be fine with popping monsters with her guns in the next world. And honestly, if anyone understands the kind of bullshit BlockLee is going through, it's her, someone who's had to live with losing trusted and loved ones on the regular and still coming out the other side as a stone-cold bitch with a tongue as sharp as her sabres.

This is too 3 of the MG stories. Also based on the characterisation of the various Lee’s we have seen he would have willingly picked this option over the standard WC, since he would always be going to places that need help. Probably not happy about the Fae memory wipe as he might have been able to help Danny (if unlikely) or at least save some people. I am assuming he will try to turn the poker dimension into an multi-dimensional refuge. Once he gets a permanent connection to a world he can start dropping people off there. The Police Girl could have probably survived if she cut her legs off fast enough. Granted not sure if she can live past the blood loss.

Certainly different from the standard jumpchain story. The gimmick being the fact all the worlds are doomed certainly adds a lot to the narrative. I am concerned with long term non viability though. Just like most jumpchain stories there is going to be a threshold where the team just gets to be too powerful not to be able to handle any issues. Meanwhile having to constantly live on the clock for the next doomed world is one long stressful situation that I don't really know how it would be adressed.

The realization moment that he was in abridged was both beautiful and exactly what I'd expect to go through most people's heads. Very enjoyable and looking forward to more.

Prospero

I loved it, I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses.

Christopher Harris

It already has its commission space on Kofi

Steven Stiring

Not a waifu story but still very interesting.

It reads like if Jumpchain and those Skyblock WC fics had a baby, and the baby decided the whole WC slavery/rape thing wasn't what it was all about. Loved it. Kinda disappointed it's only a snippet, because I would 100% read this as a full series :)

Dude, you would not believe how hard I SCREAMED reading that first fail condition.

TravelerOfTime

This was very good, and a great implementation of an abridged world still seeming serious. The shock of the actual (seemingly) unifying factor of these worlds was also well done. Probably one of my favorite MG outside of the Barbie one.
