When you mention fanfic do you mean Embers by Vathara? If yes, that was a very good story. There were certain things I would have liked to be done more of in it, but it ended on a high note. And I reject the entirety of Korra.

Second if they wanted to do it right, Vaatu should have been the spirit of light and order, and Raava the spirit of darkness and chaos, as per real life Chinese mythology.

For instance, anything that Korra introduced is probably not going to show up, ESPECIALLY the 'God/Satan' allegories that are only the Yin-Yang if you completely ignore literally everything about the Yin-Yang Great^2 Spirits, down to the fact that they flipped the genders to appeal to their own Progressive Ideologies.

2025-02-21 00:20:14 +0000 UTCIt's not so bad....if you pretend it's not taking place in Avatar universe with character's they've butchered from your childhood...like the rumors of the netflix adaptation...or the wheel of time tv series that amazon did. so...if you had amnesia and watched it before watching ATLA! see, not so bad!

2025-02-21 00:00:44 +0000 UTCIt's actually from the Fanfic that this AU is taking place in. I'd rather pretend that the Shamalan Movie doesn't exist. That said, the eternal issue when adding new worldbuilding is answering the quesiton of 'why didn't someone else figure this out before'?, In this case, it's a combination of difficulty, extra rules that trip people up and make it less/not useful for CQC Firebending, and being at a right angle of the philosophy of the 'approved' Firebending style (while, at the same time, being very much aligned with that of the Sun Warriors).

2025-02-20 23:56:53 +0000 UTCso you're adding in that ability from the "ATLA" movie, i can see it, even makes sense to a degree...to bad you can't give Zuko some kind of ever burning fire item.
