Hmmm, no, not in this case. Armsmaster really WAS canonically a dick. Kakashi may have been negligent, I'll cede that much, but it wasn't coming from a place of malice. Your version is coming off as petty and borderline malicious. I mean, I'm not going to tell you how you should write your character, but I thought you should know it's coming across that way - you would do well to ease off on him a little... Unless that's an intentional change of course. I could see an interpretation where he was subconsciously being a dick to Naruto because he deep down was blaming him for yondaime's death for example.

When I wrote my WORM fic a lot of people said that about my portrayal of Armsmaster, yet could never argue why I was wrong based on the source, only declare that I was.

2025-03-08 00:03:51 +0000 UTCKakashi regularly threw his Genin into situations that should've seen them grievously injured, if not killed, and it was only PLOT and generally developments completely outside of his control that saw Team 7 through it injured but unscarred. He never treated them like students, like the psuedo-father a commanding officer often becomes to those under his command, ESPECIALLY given their canon ages, and his training of them was laughable, at best, so what he's doing would fit an ANBU Commander with new recruits, and would make a great deal of sense, as it's really settle in or wash out, but for green Genin it's utterly terrible. It all worked out, so a lot of people don't really think about it, but imagine a group of three Sakuras in the situation, and how well their adventures would've gone then.
