Piper is fucking hilarious. But keep it to the one chapter a book plan. After all you wouldn't want to jinx things by messing with what works.

2025-03-27 23:31:49 +0000 UTCWhile that was both thematic and in character for piper it was not at all pleasant to read. i REALLY did not enjoy the experience of trying to read this chapter. The first time though it I in fact i found it so disorientating that i started skipping along from paragraph to paragraph trying to find where Piper's perspective ended so that I could start reading what at first i though would be the real chapter one with a proper setting and a liner narrative that was actually comprehensible. Instead I got to the end of the piece and the "real" chapter never actually started. So I went back through thinking that possibly there was an actual narrative just in-between the bits from pipers perspective, but no it was all one long scattershot ADHD Mess. I still do not know what happened during the chapter after reading it through three times. All I have been able to figure out is that there was a stand off with a gun being disassembled and some manner of impersonation of the original merchant employed by an imposter that probably murdered him. I still do not know the is holding the gun as it is being disassembled. Is it Piper, the merchant, or one of the guards in the shop? It was painfully and confusing to try and figure out what was happening in this Please Do not Do this Again. If Chapter like this are going to become normal going forward then I will have to stop reading this story. I Really like the Premise and other Characters please do not let is otherwise excellent piece of writing descend into nonsensical confusion. Edited due to the first comment being posted by phone.

Though I did get from the earlier section how she’s been leaning into being Piper rather than Powder with an alias in a parallel to her being Jinx in canon. And we got a little hint of color words from her as well, if only in her mind (blue for Piper, purple for possible-Jinx?). Anyways, great chapter and hope to read more. Thanks for the post and further insight in Piper’s thoughts.
