your right aurange hopefully we didn't come off as hating on sasuke or something, its kinda ironic the fact that we were struggling to understand him and his motives/ actions just proves his point even more... not us, nor anyone in the village can relate or begin to understand the torture that he had endure...

2025-07-27 18:09:12 +0000 UTCSomething that goes a bit understated about Sasuke is that he WAS just put through mental torture, to which extent we don't exactly know. Jiraiya does state that he has taken "a significant amount of mental damage" after being freed from the toad's mouth. Unlike with Kakashi, Itachi put Sasuke under Tsukuyomi for 24 hours but that still doesn't give us an exact timeframe, since Itachi has complete control over the time flow while inside that jutsu. Either way, Sasuke was subjected to his worst traumatic experience ever possibly tens of thousands of times over while in that genjutsu, and along with Itachi pushing Sasuke to hate more in order to become stronger I think it's understandable that he's having such an intense mental shift even if it seems sudden coming off the heels of the previous arc. I don't think that Sasuke hates Naruto, he hates how weak he feels and Naruto is part of why he feels that way, so he's a convenient person for Sasuke to take his anger out on. He's also had his original goal reaffirmed because of the encounter with Itachi and knows that he can't stay in the Leaf and hope to achieve that goal in the way that he desires. Plus, Sasuke has never really professed much loyalty to the Leaf; it's mainly just been his own teammates and people at close range to him that he has shown loyalty to, like trying to sacrifice himself against Haku and against Gaara. To Sasuke, this is what his life has been about, his reason to keep on living is to avenge his clan and he's been thinking that way since he was 7 years old, so about half of his life at this point he's been obsessed with revenge. As big bro said there are also people manipulating Sasuke but personally I think Sasuke would have gone down this road eventually as long as he continued to cling to the goal of killing Itachi P.S. I'm not sure if you guys picked up on it but Sasuke saying "you're still annoying" to Sakura is a clever way to show that he's putting on a front and does remember that time he called her annoying before
