Great News!

Hello lovely Patrons! If you missed the Patreon debacle of the last week then lucky you - it's all over now, so don't worry! No need to read any more, except that I am supremely grateful to all of you! <3

If you were following along, Patreon have just announced they will not be making the proposed changes to their fee structures.

I refrained from saying anything publicly whilst everything was up in the air (though behind the scenes I did write a scathing letter to the company). Some people chose to modify or delete their pledges; I understand absolutely and as always your money is yours to do with what you like!

Right now I'd just like to give a special thank you to all of you, and especially to those who pledge $1 or $2, for weathering the storm. Over the last week several creators have echoed what I've said since I started this project, which is that you are the backbone of the entire operation. Philosophy Tube simply would not exist without crowdfunding, and though I have a few more grey hairs as a result of this omnishambles it looks like things will, fingers crossed, be okay!

Big up Olly.... Been watching you Channel flourish since you was a mere 60k subs on YouTube. Happy to contribute. It's been pretty long overdue on my part ✌️

Just a few days ago I started making some numbers after the patreon email I received, and to recap if the new fee were to be implemented it will took away almost half of the creators earnings (which is obviously a super high fee) I never withdraw the support for you or any of my other patreons, I would have redouble my donations if that helped a little bit more, but hopefully it won't happen! Love to keep seeing more of you in the next 2018! Cheers men!

Really glad to be able to pledge again. I can only afford $1/mo for my favourite 10 creators, and the price hike made it simply unaffordable. Glad they listened to the creators and supporters in the end

"(though behind the scenes I did write a scathing letter to the company)" - Is it insensitive for me to say (with affection, of course) that this struck me as quite uniquely British? I'm relieved that everything worked out in the end, and looking forward to "back to normal".

Good news. I renewed my pledge and upped it to $5. You really deserve the support. Cheers
