V. interesting to catch up on fallout from Antifa video which I thought was excellent. How dismal it must be to field comments from those who did not care enough to put the effort into actually watching it! Yikes! 2018-01-07 16:38:25 +0000 UTC5:00 I think it's interesting to score the imaginary community of YouTube, if we're going to contrast a bottom-up vs. top-down imaginary community regime dichotomy, on dimensions of A) participation, and B) plurality. YouTube is much more participatory than a Manufactured Consent kind of Anderson mass media reinforced social construct, but if it fails B) plurality by imposing too restrictive structures (the golden mean here is the real subject), the participation is an even more insidious kind of manipulation than Anderson was suggesting.
