Behind the Scenes Look: Witchcraft, Gender, & Marxism

I went to an exhibit on witchcraft at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to get ideas for costumes and the look, and made this necklace that looks like an evil meteorite from Mars.
That's a potato as the centrepiece, wrapped in masking tape, painted black, then studded with nails. Supposedly some medieval witches would use potatoes or lemons to represent human hearts! I used chicken thighs for the bones, boiled and bleached. Currently the whole thing is sitting in my freezer to keep the potato from rotting.
Oh, and I have a new coloured light in my room now, as you can see by the green!
