Moral responsibility is a topic I've been wanting to talk about for a while now, there's some really fascinating philosophical detail to get into, so I'm glad I finally found a way to make it into a video!
Like the working title suggests I will be analysing the HBO series Chernobyl, but don't worry you won't need to have seen it to play along!

This topic allows me to cover a lot of ground - that's why it's so fascinating! - from Margaret Thatcher to self-driving cars
Approaching it through Chernobyl is also a chance for me to geek out about acting...

Doing some media analysis is more or less new ground for me, but I was keen to try my hand at it
All those layers stacked on top of each other made me look like a very chonky boi
I was pleased with how the colours came out in the footage too; they give a nice accent to things without being too obtrusive.
I'm going to aim to have this one out soon - my wrist is still injured so it's going to be a tough edit - but I will try to have screenshots for you soon!

2019-10-07 21:10:26 +0000 UTCMy clearest memory of the Chernobyl disaster was hearing a Billy Bragg song at age 14, (yeah I am THAT old) "Help Save The Youth of America". I think the line is: "And the incident at Chernobyl proves the world we live in is very small". Ofc we all knew something terrible had happened, but the press coverage at the time was spotty, at best (for obvious and not-so-obvious reasons). I recall me and my schoolmates all had nightmares about Nuclear Apocalypse during the early-to-mid 1980s, especially after viewing the BBC production "Threads". What continues to baffle and worry me is how we have forgotten about the very real possibility of a catastrophic nuclear accident. The US silos are poorly maintained, security is a joke, and the systems are all fairly ancient and in need of either an upgrade or complete dismantling.
