BTS Pics - "Video Games"
Added 2019-11-20 14:07:13 +0000 UTCHello lovely patrons! I've just wrapped on my next episode, working title Video Games. This is gonna be a fun one; it's something I've wanted to do for a while! As usual, please don't share these pictures outside of Patreon - they're just for us ;)

This episode is going to be a bit of a tribute to the work of another YouTuber, Jim Sterling, who I've followed for years! It was weird to don his iconic outfit (real iconic not Ubisoft iconic) cause it looks so different on me!

You won't need to be familiar with Jim for the video to make sense; I'll tell you all you need to know and help put his work in some wider philosophical context too

It's also nice to finally have a hat that fits my enormous head - I ordered it specially and then customised it by cutting a corset to go round it

I'm using the classic Lindsay Ellis move of cutting between two sets to help the flow, and this is the second!

Meet the Vampire Economist! For this look I took inspiration from the film Daybreakers - those are yellow contact lenses and fake fangs, obviously; I put on my usual natural face of makeup and added an extra layer of white concealer to make myself paler. I used a bit of eyeliner to fill out my brows, and under the eyes I blended eyeliner with silver and white shadow in the inner corners. The hair was combed through with Brylcream to give it that slightly greasey look

Before any of you worry that I'm splashing your pledges on fancy booze, the "champagne" in that glass is actually a very, very cheap bottle of Prosecco!

I'm pleased to have one of my oldest and favourite characters back on the show - Pontius Pilate, the Roman tech billionaire who was last seen in the Elon Musk episode! I used texturising putty to give his hair a bit more structure and neatness, though in my mind's eye he should really be bald...

Writing Pilate is always a lengthy process because a lot of his dialogue is what's called Verbatim Theatre - actual quotes from real people assembled and only lightly edited

I really like the sparkly backgrounds - I bought two to use in Queer✨ and they're just so versatile, you can get all sorts of colours and textures out of them!

This one's gonna be fun - it'll have things for old fans and new audiences, and the theory is good and technical as well as timely! I'll have screenshots for you from the editing phase soon; $15+ patrons will get to see it early, and for everyone else it should be out by the end of November!
