Editing on my next episode is progressing well! I'm quite excited for this one: I've taken a creative risk, tried something a bit different, so I hope you like it! Here are some screenshots:
I don't know why I went with a hat for this character, I just thought, "Go on, give him a hat..." It turned out to be a good decision cause it was cold on set!
Ellis is back! If you've seen my video YouTube: Art or Reality? you'll recognise the (now former) Detective, returning once again to be menacing and Scottish!

You'll see soon enough how the hammer fits in: it was one of the last big creative decisions and it really tied the video together thematically

So I suppose there's no point being coy anymore: this video is a short film. No 'to-camera' talking head bits, just character dialogue...
I realised during the research phase that a normal video essay on this subject would be about three hours long and incredibly meandering and dense, so I wrote the script to cover all the major points and hopefully help them connect emotionally a bit more. There's a lot of technical philosophy covered in a pretty short amount of time, and as always there'll be a bibliography with further reading
I considered making this the thumbnail haha but it would mean swift demonetisation
The editing has been challenging, not least from a technical perspective, and there's still some polish to apply but the majority of the VFX are in place and the skeleton is there. I should finish it up over the weekend, all being well. I'm a bit stuck for a title, funnily enough - How To Spy on Everyone is just a placeholder for now. I'm thinking maybe Data, but being able to get something about spying in there would be nice...
I've had to take breaks for illness during editing (which is very unlike me - life is challenging at the moment) but I should finish it up this weekend. It'll be out on Friday of next week - that's the 31st - though $15+ patrons will get to see it early as usual.
