Editing is proceeding apace on Artists & Fandoms, so here are some screenshots for your perusal!
I love the way this shot came together - the LIFX throwing down a purple accent light, the gold couch throw, the liger - it's gorgeous!
This video finds a common through-line for a pretty wide range of topics, from Star Wars...

To me and this show!
This one is a strong candidate for a thumbnail! The face takes up about a third of the frame, which is good proportions for a thumbnail, and with a bit of cleaning up in photoshop it'd be a banger
Though I'm also strongly tempted to make this the thumbnail purely because it'd be funnier
I love these shots that Alice help compose and how they came out a bit moodier
All the different settings in this video come together nicely I think!
This little sequence in Times Square was tough to pull off but very satisfying! The footage is gorgeous!
This sequence came together well. I'm talking about some very heavy and real stuff throughout but it's all in service of a greater point - I didn't want to get too bogged down in that heaviness so I chose a costume, setting, music, and shot to make it slightly less realistic and offset that emotional weight. There's the physical desk in between us, obviously, and I'm also talking direct to camera rather than pulling my usual 'off to one side at 45 degrees' trick, so it actually seems more impersonal.
Whereas here, you'll notice I'm slightly off centre and sitting at an angle, which feels more natural. This is actually the moment of the video where I'm talking about the heaviest stuff of all, but it was more appropriate here to take it seriously and let it land.
I'm just waiting on some artwork and then it'll need a few more hours of work before it's ready to render! The video will be out early for $15+ patrons as usual!

2020-03-07 23:44:31 +0000 UTCI wonder if the at-an-angle shots feel more personal because they're similar to the fourth wall-breaking "looks at camera" gags from single-cam sitcoms, inviting the audience in on the joke (or in this case, more intimate discussion). Whereas the straight-on approach is akin to an impersonal presentation.
