This episode is gonna get a little bit dark - I would definitely advise you to heed the content warnings
I haven't actually seen Wandavision, but I saw the trailers and I was inspired to use black and white as a visual marker of unreality or hyperreality
In my original draft of the script I kinda wanted to get Nigella Lawson on as a guest: she wasn't available and in hindsight I'm really glad cause the episode took a very different turn quite late in the game, I threw it out and rewrote it, and it actually works better that she's just a cardboard cutout
The black and white sections are actually more or less the original script I wrote, just performed in a very different, over the top way
I'm also gonna be engaging in a little bit of (literal) self-reflection in this video, even verging on self-parody
The mirror sections were realised pretty late in the game, and I'm just so pleased how they came together!
I love this shot so much. It's so serendipitous for the character that there are literal bars behind her out the window! I can tell I'm gonna have lots to talk about on the post-mortem stream for this one haha
As well as talking about philosophy I am also going to be literally baking a cake (it was delicious!) - that's not a prop!
And I'll put the recipe in the description in case you want to bake it yourself at home!
It's also fun to be able to talk about some feminist philosophy on the show - it's been implied in various episodes but it's nice to make it more explicit.
I think this episode is gonna premiere on Saturday night - I wanna get it out before I have to go back to Romania, which is very soon. $15+ Patrons will be able to see it as soon as it's uploaded and the English subtitles are available, which might only be a matter of hours!
