2022-03-08 02:18:57 +0000 UTCSomething this shows me is that it's not common enough to teach skepticism, science, fact-checking, evidence, how to decide for yourself who or when to trust, that might be because religion is such a huge part of our society and they need people to just trust and believe without evidence, that's what faith is, so families and schools discourage critical thinking, but what I'm trying to say is that most of us haven't figured out when to trust or not, and I think that's what philosophy is for, it makes you think "why do I believe this?" "is that good enough? can I make an argument against it?" I think a good chunk of reasons people don't trust vaccines could have been ruled out if more people had a good understanding of the concepts I mentioned above.
