BTS Pics - 'Crypto'

HELLO lovely Patrons! I wrapped on my next episode yesterday, working title Crypto. It's going to be spectacular! It'll be out on Nebula and for $15 pretty much as soon as it's ready - for everyone else, it'll be up on the 24th of February. Here are some behind the scenes pictures from the set!

This episode covers a lot of ground, but the core is the collapse of the crypto trading company FTX and its ties to a philosophical movement called Effective Altruism

It felt really good to be back on set!

Brian Conway and Nicki Buglewicz returned to do styling and hair/makeup, and they outdid themselves once again!

Philosophy Tube really would be nothing without those two - they bring SO MUCH to every shoot, and its thanks to your pledges that I'm able to pay them a proper amount that fits their talent!

This look was a custom latex nun outfit designed and made by Dead Lotus Couture - you might remember them from my episode on Transhumanism. Also apparently they made a look for some musician called Lady Gaga not long after? Never heard of her, sounds like she's ripping off Philosophy Tube tbh

I called it the Techno Nun! It's about balancing ethics and helping others with science and evidence - that's the Effective Altruist Way

Here's a detail of the circuit board design Nicki drew on my face, to emphasise the techno side of things!

I'm glad the looks in this video are so spectacular - the philosophy is quite dense and technical, so I wanted to make sure you were entertained!

and THIS is the Future Soldier! We're going to be talking about Longtermism and the ethics of future populations, so I needed a futuristic look to show the Techno Nun's evolution!

the HAIR in this one is amazing - Nicki greased it up so it looked messy, like I'd been fighting in the cyber wastelands!

AND I WASN'T ALONE. For the first time in YEARS I brought in another creator to collab with me and actually appear on camera! Say hello to Twitch and Tiktok Star, F1nn5ter!

I was super surprised when F1nn5ter reached out and asked to visit the set, and I was like, "Well, I won't just make you sit in the corner quietly. Why not be on the show!"

I actually got those prop guns from Tom Ridgewell, AKA Tomska! They won't be appearing in the final video cause YouTube has quite strict rules about firearms on screen, but we used them for these fun stills

F1nn was actually really nice to have on set - truth be told I was a bit intimidated but he's really professional and super kind, the crew all liked him, he was funny and contributed loads!

He also taught me a bit about how to do TikTok, cause I'll be branching out into that soon too!

This is my favourite pic haha, where we recreated The School of Athens as Plato and Aristotle

This one should be really special, I'm super excited to bring it to you! I will have screenshots available from the edit very soon!
