Screenshots: 'Crypto'

Hello lovely Patrons!

The editing for the next video is going really well - I have a rough cut that's currently with the subtitlers. Here are some screenshots for it so you can get a feel for how it'll be!

I really enjoyed filming in this infinity cove, it worked really well for us! The latex outfit looks amazing on camera too

Nicki did such a good job on this hair and makeup!

The philosophy for this one is quite technical and I didn't shy away from that. In fact I think the script is one of the most informational we've had in a while, tonally speaking. I hope it'll be a useful resource!

The video is about the Effective Altruism movement, and I will be touching on some of the criticisms of it. However, I've tried very hard to be even-handed and I hope that'll come across

As well as Effective Altruism classic, we'll also be talking about Longtermism.

I know a lot of people like the little 'book review' videos I used to do, so I've worked that into the main video once again, like we did on The Hidden Rules of Modern Society. This time I'll be reviewing William MacAskill's bestseller, What We Owe the Future

I'll be comparing it to Toby Ord's The Precipice - I really did a lot of reading and research for this one, I hope it comes across in the final piece!

When Fiona, the Philosophy Tube social media manager, read an early draft of the script one of her notes was that I should plug my Tiktok and Instagram haha, so I managed to work that in. They'll launch pretty soon I think!

It's hard to tell from stills but I've really tried hard on the editing for this video - I've included a lot more motion and excitement (for want of a better word) than I have previously. Part of that I think is the influence of learning Tiktok, and part of it is just me responding to the changing styles of YouTube at the moment. I hope it pays off and you notice the difference: I've really tried to up my game!

This is one of my favourite screenshots hahahaha. I have a few friends who are models and they've been teaching me some tips and tricks. Apparently it's all about creating triangles

We'll be talking about philanthropy and the modern charity industry a bit too - it should be an interesting time!
