2023-03-20 22:09:19 +0000 UTCFricking loved this play! I know that recordings don't ever capture the true energy of being at a live performance but just feeling the shadow of it whetted my appetite. I love the choice of picking one of the lesser loved "Historical" Shakespeare plays because while everyone has probably had a chance to see most of the big thematic fanciful plays like Hamlet and Midsummer they are generally less culturally connected to these other characters. Also I dunno if it was outright intended but there was some Samuel Beckett energy in the way characters evolved through the comedic little breaks in the walls like three dimensional people breaking out of suddenly too constrictive molds. In short it was wonderful. Thank you!

2023-03-02 16:30:35 +0000 UTCI just watched “The Prince”. A very interesting concept. I enjoyed it a lot but found the Shakespeare bits difficult to follow as the actors galloped through their lines. I know that understanding what was going on in the Shakespeare part of the play was less important than the development of the Sam and Jen story but it would have been good to have been able to follow it a bit more easily - but maybe my ear is just not attuned to the language enough. 3.5*

I’m halfway through the Prince and it is so amazingly good, it finally prompted me to become a patron here. It feels condescending to say I’m proud of you - your work has nothing to do with me, and yet! The humanity you’ve always shown on your channel RADIATES in this show. I can’t wait to share it with friends. Just fucking WOW, girl.
