Previews: Chapter 1 (Starling and V De Winters)
Added 2025-03-17 09:38:02 +0000 UTCSome previews picked out by the beloved Beta Testers! So far what's been done of Chapter 1, which is reaching halfway point.

ID: You finally arrived on Harehill Mount, your feet aching a bit from the uneven cobblestones. All that work on St. De Lyones' building and no time spent on fixing the perpetrator of most of the broken soles in South Hollow. You made your way to the front of the opened gates and drunk in the sight. A pebbled courtyard stretching out in front of you, with an old fountain sitting in the middle, surrounded by three towering buildings, the main with the two wings flanking it.
The Tester that sent this was just super excited for a new spooky location to get ostracized in. Welcome to Starling's Home away from Home.

ID: "Anything hurt?" He finally said, something foreign dragging on his otherwise impeccable words as he spoke.
This was filed under "Swoon". Congratulations on m!Starling on his first appearance!

ID: As you expressed your apologies, you swear you could spot a slow twitch on his lips, as if a smile was trying to creep onto their features. He exhaled smoke through his nose, looking like something ethereal, mythical for just a moment before a husky chuckle broke through your words.
"Please, it was just a moment of ill fate." He brought the cigarette back to their lips, resting the end against their bottom lip, looking almost like a kiss. "Think nothing more. Just be careful in the future."
Another one section under the "Swoon" folder for the Beta Testers. This is if you pick to apologies quite nicely for bumping into him on his smoke break. This made another Beta Tester cry out in a fit of lust.

ID: You took a moment, taking a deep breath first before reaching out. A gentle throb in your head, right against the skull started to make itself known, but went away the moment you took ahold of the nurse. You settled in, sitting up and immediately stretching, several joints popping and cracking. How long had she been sitting in the same position? Her back ached.
One quite long section in Starling's section is navigating handling a new character, a sweet elderly nurse by the name of Caroline. If you choose to possess her, you get to guess how long exactly she had been sitting in the same position.

ID: "Hen, maybe a different story?" Your grandfather shut his book, and took his pipe out of his mouth. "Maybe try the one where your Da tried to drown me after finding out we eloped?"
"Oh, yes, in the barrel of whiskey! Yes!"
Also a nice memory of your grandparents as Buchanan's! They're always the fun ones. Don't worry, it was pertinent to the scene.

ID: A man, of slightly above average height and lean build, dressed all in black. He clashed with the soft colors of the people around him, but it couldn't be by accident. You recognised mourning clothes, and he was dressed ready for a funeral. Dark, rich russet hair that seemed to glint a vibrant red in the dappled sunlight. He seemed to radiate a soft warmth, except for his eyes.
They were like ice, a cold, glinting green, even while outlined in what you recognised as kohl. Those sad shards, like shattered piece of stained glass, flicked down to meet yours. His downturned lips gave a small, strained smile, showing a hint of a sharp canine.
Anyway, enough of the hospital! Here comes the beloved figure of Victor De Winters, being a dead knock out at the scene of a crime. Giving, as was described, their usual "air of mystery".

ID: Whoever this was, he had noticed Seir. A bolt of anxiety shot through you again. He didn't seem to care about your reaction, instead his eyes turn to drink in your face. His sharp eyes dart to your hair, a polite smile gracing his features, with a small flash of a canine. It was almost teasing. As if on instinct, your fingers find their way to your hair. He looks away just as they do, back to the crime scene as you find your hair in complete disarray, some parts knotted without a hope of becoming untangled without some maintenance.
Another piece of evidence that V can be a bit of a mean girl. C'mon, Victor, the player just spent the night in the cells!
Anyway, those are some of the previews we have so far! More to come, especially when Starling's giant section is done and we can move onto S Della Rovere's introduction and beyond!
