T'was I who ate the dragon: Himemushi Momoyo
Added 2023-03-01 02:30:54 +0000 UTCOur "favorite" game is the "ZUN stated a character's power is this...what does that mean" game. Of course it's all danmaku flavoring, but sometimes we have very little to go off of! Particularly when the character profile states this may be completely false.
Momoyo's ability to eat dragons gave us some pause. Initially there were lots of Minecraft jokes, an even a Minecraft concept.
This version of Momoyo came with 4 pickaxes that came in stone, iron, gold, and diamond. However, it is very similar to an alpha version of Marisa, who we knew through experience was not fun. In addition, we don't use the token mechanic unless we feel it's required.
Instead we went with a hot-blooded build. Momoyo in this incarnation wants to fight the strongest player, and can hit them harder as a result. She doesn't mind being the strongest, and will defend her crown with all her power.
The ability in the final is a bit wordy. A question we're always asking is, "what happens in a 1v1 situation," and we didn't want Momoyo constantly getting +1 damage in that situation. As we often do, we chose to lean it in favor of evening the playing field in both directions.
Both girls this month are really good at wrecking face. We hope you enjoy playing as them, and once again thank you for supporting the Danmaku!! project.
