What happened:
I lost a lot of time this sprint to IRL events. It will be rare for IRL to really take time from this work, but I lost about 3/12 sessions to it this time.
Misty Cove exploded in complexity. Currently, Explore Misty Cove treats the encounter as if the player had selected no combat at the end of the intro. It was originally a single battle, but ideas for fun mechanics kept popping up. In the end, I wasn't able to complete any of the battles enough to make them releasable, but the writing was finished. So I’m opting to release the writing now and will finish the new battles next time.
Combat got it’s base art in. The new shiny art contrasts even harder with the current combat art assets (IE the arrows), so those need to get fixed soon. There is a lot of flickering from combat that needs to get cleaned up.
Kate’s art showed up MUCH faster than I was expecting. The final image might even show up tomorrow. If that happens before or on Friday, I’ll do a fast update to put in her portrait.
Resolutions: I am getting killed by these everytime. I do all my work in glorious 1920x1080, and then switch to something much lower to test in. Every time, I get thrown into a sudden crisis of nothing works correctly for the other resolutions. They are still whacky in this version. I hope with some engine work, they won’t ambush me again during final testing.
