Added sunset maps
Added character sound effects
What happened:
Full disclaimer, Sandy stuff is currently buggy.
Sandy Coast got its first story set. It also shows the branching system much better now. Depending on who is in your team, the result is very different. There is a problem. I ran out of time to write what happens if you fail the story. You are supposed to get a different end if that happens, but right now the game just counts anything as a win.
Day time is now a thing, kinda. Some of the maps are now displayed as though they are at night or sunset. It depends on the story. One of the stories also handles the time of day in the talking scene. However, the time of day heavily draws attention to the fact some of the backgrounds are very bright. That feature will keep evolving.
Character sound effects are added to about half the game. They play when characters move around.
Lastly, I can now chance the character UI in battle, which means I can FINALLY replace the bright, clean Catelly image found in the intro. That has been weighing on my mind for like a year.
What’s next:
The wrap up of the pirate saga.

Yay.

2020-06-04 17:24:43 +0000 UTCThat's a good point. I'll take care of that. It won't be a big change, but it will have slightly different dialogue that acknowledges what happened.

2020-06-04 17:24:13 +0000 UTCAh pirates.. always chasing booty. In all seriousness though, that you have developed this even to this point by yourself is a remarkable testament to your creative ability and programming prowess. Bravo, sir.

2020-06-04 15:59:47 +0000 UTCSpeaking of different things happening if you win or lose, there is something that has been bothering me ever since you overhauled the battle system. That being the very first fight in the game. In the old battle system it was impossible to win that fight, or at least I never managed to no matter how much I tried, but if you play your cards perfectly in the new system you can beat Dancia, but there is no difference in dialogue, not even a "you did better than I thought a crazy naked lady would" or something like that. If you're going to give us an actual chance of beating Dancia in the prologue, however slim, it should have at least a minor effect on the story if we do.
