The two sets of two are basically two hour long episodes directly leading into the second of each set. Especially for 9+10, where the manga content is rearranged in the anime.

2025-06-21 23:17:15 +0000 UTCAbout Byakuya, while I do agree that the imagery and tone surrounding his As Nodt fight seemed final, I don't agree that that should be his conclusion. Many people seem to think that he has nothing to give the story since his character arc is done, but his character arc would have concluded in Hueco Mundo. He doesn't do much differently after that, he just doubles down on his appreciation for Ichigo in his own life. It was cool of Kubo to use Tsukishima as a vehicle to do that, but we already knew Byakuya held great respect for Ichigo and was a person of incredibly stubborn loyalty. Kubo isn't someone who kills off or makes major changes to characters unless he feels they don't have much else to give the story, and I do feel that was reflected in the decision to keep Byakuya alive. Having Byakuya fight As Nodt specifically is a good way of demonstrating this. Maybe I'll write more on this later... On a different note, here's a fun fact: Renji's art skills are just as bad as Rukia's, but in a different way.

Urahara might have established the R&D division as we know it, but there were others in the past, just like, while Yama and the OG 13 created the Gotei 13 as we know them, there were other military institutions before them. Soul Society is over 1mil years old, in all that time there were other organizations/systems of government running the place, tho the 5 great noble clans were always in charge either directly or from the shadows. Then there's the whole mess of having the Burn the Witch branch tied into the universe too

Honestly mate, enjoy the manga, because personally, it's wayyy more captivating than the anime.

We don't know from which squad Senjumaru was and how she knows Mayuri, it could be that he was already a bit famous for making some shady experiments in the sereitei and that's how he got in prison, I don't know, just my speculation.

2025-06-17 23:42:05 +0000 UTCI do wish he’s also watching the sub since the voices are better in my opinion. I don’t like the dub that much. It’s still decent though, and watching both can help you get a better feel for the characters and how the tone shifts between versions. I’ve seen people say that if the dub is enjoyable, then it shouldn’t matter, and while I understand that perspective, I don’t fully agree. It’s not just about enjoyment the sub often carries subtle nuances that can get lost when translated into English. It’s not that the dub completely changes the dialogue, but Japanese and English express things differently, and some of that meaning or emotional depth doesn’t always carry over. while the dub does get better as the series progresses, overall it still doesn’t quite reach the same level as the sub. That’s why I tend to stick with the sub it usually feels closer to what the original creators intended and gives a more complete and emotionally honest experience. But he can do whatever he wants and watch however he likes, this is just my opinion!!!

And why subtitle the music too? I can understand if it's for the hearing impaired, but then there should be an option for regular subtitles too. For that matter why do you have them turned on in the first place? English is your first language, why have them on at all? Might as well just watch the anime in the jap dub then

Aizen's sole goal was to invade the Roya Palace and when he was going to leave the Seretei alone and go directly to Karakura and then to the palace. By his logic, the 13 Squads should left Aizen alone for the Royal Guard to deal with him. It's all about tone, if they weren't joking around and taken their lost so lightly I be more inclined to side with him.

So instead they were ordered to stay in thier headquarters so the all the healers could survive and heal everyone after the battle.

I'm not sure if that's in the dub version too, so I would recommend to watch the sub-version from those "anime only" scenes just in case something isn't clear for you. I'm also sad they cut Rukias "peach" scene, that was so funny 😂

2025-06-17 15:59:11 +0000 UTCSo about the whole Mayuri knowing Senjumaru thing it's a bit weird and not really confirmed but we can assume that they knew eachother before Mayuri was thrown into the maggots nest which we don't know when happens it could be a year before Turn the pendulum takes place or 500 - 700 years prior to it. This could mean there was a group of researchers in the soul society which both of them were apart of way prior to urahara founding the R&D department back in the Turn back the pendulum. Considering Senjumaru says the security has gotten more lax since she was there, seemingly referring to mayuris lab we can assume back in the day when mayuri was doing mayuri things without the permissions of the government his lab security was alot tighter back then. Senjumaru saying that the security is lax either means they were working together And she's idk scolding Mayuri i guess for getting lax on security or she's the one who put him in the maggots nest and was struggling to break in to arrest him both scenarios are fun to think about. Also yes Urahara founded the R&D department squad 12 was focused on something else before that (there was no official research department before it)

2025-06-17 15:53:08 +0000 UTCFor some reason the subtitles for English dub are very spoilery with names which is not the case for subtitles for Japanese dub. Also, the English dubbing often slightly alters the meaning of certain sentences while the Jap dub sticks to manga versions.
