I too also worry about the safety of the soul king when earth quakes happen

Adonaieus, the correct way to spell it (probably), is an adaptation of "Adonai" into English in the same way as "Yhwach" is an adaptation of "Yahweh". "Adonai" means "My Lords" in Hebrew, and this is exactly where both "The Lord" as a way of referring to the God in Christianity and the "royal plural" come from. Interestingly, it was used in place of "YHWH" while reading, so there is a theory that "YHWH" was originally Soul King's name, which his son took for himself after judging his father as unworthy of the Godhood, same as his fragment inside Ichigo would steal the name "Zangetsu" and "Adonaieus" being a descriptive title, the same as "Soul King", which is reinforced by YHWH already being the name of God for the people when the future Mustache King was born (or, rather, reborn) in the living world. Now, if the Living World of Bleach is our world minus the supernatural, about which most people don't know regardless, then to hear "YHWH" from the people and take it for himself as a Messiah figure he had to be born in Israel about 2000 years ago. The son of God, born under unusual circumstances at that time and place, healing by touch and a ton of other things — he is basically a dark take on Jesus, who instead of accepting his role to die for the people and than rejoin his father at heaven renounced the flawed world his father created, with so much suffering and an omnipresent fear of death in it, the very first thing he felt in life from his returning fragments, "the screams of the forsakened withing his heart", feeling that his father abandoned his role as a God and let his own son and his people suffer and die, called his father a humiliated failure and taking his name for himself, went on a crusade to conquer the heaven and remake the world. Which is exactly the interpretation of Jesus in some fringe Gnostic sects of early Christianity, which considered what was written in the Bible merely an official story. Yes, Kubo went absolutely crazy deep with Abrahamic religious symbolism in the final arc.

The scene at the beginning of the episode implies that the soul king lost all his limps and what appears to be a sword as well and then was put into a crystal. I just wonder who even could place the soul king in a crystal who’s supposed to be an almighty being, could it be ichibie ? We saw him holding the soul king ominously when ichigo was in the irazusando.

Yeah but it also led to nothing, which is why it was removed. "Theory fuel" is pointless if it never leads to anything or if a thread is dropped/was never there to begin with

true lol

Sejad Lulic

this scene is so important for ichigo... implying he'd win agains non-almighty Yuha in SHIKAI puts him up there beyond so many characters including the most powerful ones

Thinking about it now Hiyori scales above the soul king. One survived being bi-sected

Cour 3 is SO GOOD!, can't wait for tomorrow

Fun fact: Adnyeus is derived from the Hebrew word "Adonai," meaning God, similar to how Yhwach's name is derived from Yahweh.

As much as I love this episode, I also have criticisms of it. I didn't like the anime removing Yhwach thinking about Osho when Ichigo arrived. It really added so much theory fuel in the manga. The anime could have also expanded on the destruction in the living world when Ichigo cut down the Soul King. The "shaking" they showed was kinda underwhelming, honestly, as it was Soul King's life that was in danger. They could have destroyed some bridges, buildings falling, etc. Lastly, I appreciate the manga Yhwach a lot more now that I have experienced the anime Yhwach. The manga Yhwach is a lot more secure, as he feels like a proper god, but the anime Yhwach is humanised in this episode by making him explain his motives to the others around Ichigo. If it was only Ichigo, it would not have changed the complexion, as Ichigo is a god in his own right. But to explain his goals to others like Ganju, for example, makes him more human, which I am not a fan of, to be honest. This was also why the anime original flashback in episode 24 gelled really well, because we did get to see more of Yhwach during his meeting with Ichibe. But Ichibe is a god as well, so Yhwach's complexion remains the same, just like if it would have been the case if it was Ichigo alone.

“The screams echoing within my heart, the voices of the foresaken”. Think of Y.H. as the philosopher’s stone from Full metal alchemist.
