RR - Completion and apology

Good day, evening, or when this finds you,

I know I had told people that I would be writing Book 3 for Ruinous Return and even conducted a 'Story Direction' poll to hear the fans' voices...but I just cannot.

Don't get me wrong—I tried. I tried writing the start of the story three different times (getting to 2k, 5.2k, and 8k words, respectively), but each time, I just petered out.

This was Lyn's story. Sure, there were other characters who were introduced, had their story arcs, and resolved their own drama...but this was all about Lyn's return to Ghomar to reclaim her glory, finding out it was stolen, and then choosing to go above and beyond her prior achievements.

I wanted to write a Book 3...but the focus of the story was Lyn's drama, and there isn't much drama that I can think of being appropriate. The 8k word attempt I got to saw her going back to see the 'returned to Earth' heroes...and it felt hollow. It was like I wasn't writing in my style. It just was...off.

So, it is with a heavy heart and bittersweet resolve that I state the following; Ruinous Return is a completed work. Two Books - a duology - that mark out Lyn's return to Ghomar to ruin the order of the world and take over with her benevolent aims.

Book 2 does have an open ending, but I cannot guarantee that a Book 3 will be coming.

I wanted to, badly, spending hours writing these past few days as I churned out various ideas. But each time it fell flat. There was not the same sense of love and joy for the characters.

The story has been marked as Completed, and I will notify folks when it is going to STUB for Kindle/Kindle Unlimited/Audible (shoutout to Mango Media for signing the story!).
