they are designed to resist impact and shocks like that. People have done actual tests on automatics and they are much more durable than people think. And an entry level Seiko isn't that much to service anyway. You just buy a new movement for 80 bucks at the worst.

I can tell you it's a coincidence. They don't usually regulate that movement any more than spec. I have a lot of Seikos and it's hit or miss. I prefer them to be fast instead of slow, so I can just pull the crown and let time to catch up to it.

Is it true high impact sports such as baseball and tennis will cause damage to the internals of an automatic watch? I returned a nice entry level Seiko automatic because I read some snippet on the internet not to wear it during play.

I have two Seikos with 6R35 movements. My Alpinist regularly runs fast, while my 140th Anniv. Diver keeps time very accurately. Does the diver have a better movement (it was more expensive...), or is this coincidence?
