Shirley isn't necessarily the best mother ever, despite any good intentions that she might have. :D

That for sure sounds more accurate. I would certainly agree with your point btw, just wanted to make that little clarification.

Right, I should rephrase that as "celebrity guest appearances"

Paget Brewster is nowhere near being just a cameo. Nor is this Brie Larson's first appearance.

LeVar Burton, who joins Troy on his voyage, plays Geordi La Forge on Star Trek TNG. He was the ships chief engineer and the best friend of Data. Data was an android who wanted so much to be more human.. sorta like Abed.

Is 5x06 the Community episode with the most famous cameos?
I mean: Brie Larson, Robert Patrick, Nathan Fillion, Kumail Nanjiani, Paget Brewster (and I could add Jerry Minor, although we've seen him previously)

"The subtitles describe it as... yip-chaa"
"That's actually pretty accurate"
Is a fantastic joke. I love it.

They really do have some great cameos. Some, one assumes, weren't nearly as big as they are now of course, but there were a number of actors who were pretty well known:
Brie Larson, Nathan Fillion, Kumail Nanjiani. The Reading Rainbow guy. There's so many more but I can really only recall the ones from these two episodes because it's late and I'm tired.

A couple episodes ago we saw a short scene in which a bulletin board fell from the cafeteria wall when the students rushed in to revolt against the teachers. Good attention to detail by the writers.
Debra, like many cameo characters in this show, will not be seen again, unfortunately. I don't feel that's a spoiler because her role being SUPER β΅mΒ°`` should be an obvious giveaway.
I hope that didn't violate your spoilery expectations. π¦
