I know it's difficult to talk about because even acknowledging it flirts with spoilers, but I think I can do it: do you think (3) was a spoiler? Because I really don't think it is; it's really obtuse and I'm also not even sure it's true...

My *first* question would be "is that a skin-to-skin thing, or even touched where you're clothed? Because the way you zip up your sweater (?), seems like the latter." But David never asks that VERY important question. (Maybe I'm ahead of him in an unfair way because I'm familiar with Rogue, but... c'mon.) 2 - I never ended up finishing even the first season, so the show clearly didn't grab me... but I don't know what's "missing" because it's not just objectively good, I very much enjoyed it. Maybe it's just my ADHD; when a show demands your full attention, it's hard for me to watch no matter how good it is. I like it when I can give at least 10% of my attention to another thing. And yeah, I really like how the show really doesn't over-explain, it doesn't treat its audience like we're stupid. It's comfortable being confusing and weird and trippy. 3 - Bummer they didn't get Patrick Stewart (as far as I know they didn't. Maybe season 2?)

And The Nevers had such promise until they lobotomized it. The Expanse comes to mind too, but more for the sheer complexity of the moving parts than confusion.

2024-03-08 04:16:24 +0000 UTCYes-very few off-beat shows get the time beyond one season to breathe and really do the slow burn in displaying their story and creativeness but every once in a while they do and when they do it turns into something incredible.

And while I haven't watched Mr Robot yet I agree on Preacher-also great. But this in particular will leave you confused at first and you'll figure it out as you go along, but it will continue to be crazy.

You are supposed to be confused at this point. Mr. robot and maybe preacher are the only semi recent shows that I can think of that put so much trust in their audience to hang in there and figure things out.
