Middleman pilot is surprisingly tight. But the flying fish episode has some great meme moments. The four finger salute I used many a time back when I could move my arms. Definitely worth a full beginning to end binge if you locate it. It, how long with Firefly, legion and farscape are on my hard drive. Legion lagged a little bit toward the middle but one of its best episodes, in my opinion, is still ahead for you.

I'm honestly not sure I've seen every episode. The first episode I caught may have been, like, 3? And I watched all that I could find in order after that but it might not have been all of them? But what I saw, I enjoyed. I may go back and watch it; at least 6, since you call that one out specifically. (I'm pretty sure I have the entire series on a HD somewhere. Along with several other note-worthy shows... Legion, probably season 1 and 2, that I still haven't finished for whatever reason. Andy Barker, PI, a show I've thought about recommending... I think it was only 6 episodes, so that's a good one. Black Donnellys... I didn't LOVE it, like it's not top-10, but that's a really good show, and I'm guessing it flew under pretty much everybody's radar. First thing I saw Olivia Wilde in, and it has that guy who reminds me of Peter Petrelli from Heroes but it's not him, it's the other guy. He was in Hannibal... I'm pretty sure both were, honestly. He's the one who tried to kill Will when he was in prison, I think?)

I'm going with a comedy special next month, I think, before I return to "Life" and I plan on riding it out until we finish, although we'll see; I reserve the right to take a detour here or there if I want. (If she keeps doing every choice every month then it's a lot easier, I think, to mix it up here and there. If for some reason she can't do that at least most of the time then I may stick to one show to completion before moving on.)

1 - 88 episodes and 2 movies... I'm not going to try to get through all that 1 reaction a month at a time. That's why I chose "Life", which is like 30 episodes (still a good chunk, but IMO much more reasonable), and "Keen Eddie" is on my list. ("Party Down", with only about 20-22 episodes was too, but seems like it didn't click with Ana the way I expected/hoped, so...)
2 - I know he was in GotG 2, doing his Peacekeeper voice as the Guardians escaped from the arrogant gold people. But yeah, I've seen him in very little else.
I don't know that any of the Farscape crew have been in anything particularly note-worthy that I can think of off the top of my head outside Officer Aeryn Sun, who does a lot of voice-work, like Morrigan, Chloe, some character in a really fun Conan game for the XBox 2.

I definitely think Farscape should be more popular than it is, and unfortunately haven't really seen Ben Browder in anything else (never seen any Stargate other than the movie). That being said, didn't you pick Batman: The Animated Series? We surely won't make it all the way through Farscape if you don't choose Farscape...

Thanks for the reaction Ana. I did try to warn you that the pilot is a bit long. If it helps I can skip a choice next month to make up for it if you want. I am very happy you got to react to this and that you liked it. As a fan of the show I am biased but there is not a single bad episode, but in my opinion the pilot is actually one of the weakest. So the fact that you liked it bodes well for the future. I have been wanting you to react to Firefly since i become a patron and have been waiting for a spot on the tier to open up.
I agree, Morena Baccarin is stunning.
Yes, just one season and a movie. Some studio execs decided to cancel the show. If only streaming was a thing back then, this show would have lived on. The early demise of the show is the bitter sweet thing about being a fan of it. The movie was created to wrap up all the loose ends the cancellation caused.

Welcome aboard! It's been three or four months since we had a full boat.in fact I thought Ana had lowered the limit when she shifted to mostly all winners. I look forward to your questioning our assumptions :)

I did warn her that the pilot was longer than the rest of the episodes. This is my first month as a Binge-watcher so I am still learning the rules. Perhaps it can be seen as a welcome to the tier gift? :)

Really? I didn't hear her say that when he appeared; I must've missed it. Also, you mentioned specifically some stuff he was in in a different comment (not in this thread) so... I think that might've led me to believe this was about a different person, although I'm not honestly sure if that comment was even up at the time, so maybe not.
And "she doesn't get a notification if you reply to me, as opposed to commenting on her post." Really? I never thought about it but if I did, I'd never have guessed that. Fair enough, good to know.

I think part of Farscape's charm, to me, was that it didn't feel rushed. The story and characters had room to breathe. Maybe that's a bad thing in that the pilot doesn't grip you like Firefly's does, so it's a harder sell to a reactor (and again, 88 + 2 vs 13 + 2, the time commitment... once you fall in love with it, you're grateful there's more, but until then it's at least a bit daunting) but since I know how good it is, I appreciate that it didn't rush to get to the main conflict.

I just think Farscape had better characters, more interesting and alien worlds, more interesting relationships... obviously it's a bit unfair since it got 88 episodes but the show had more breadth to it, more variety and some of the storylines... I'll remember several Farscape storylines whereas for Firefly mostly it's just the main plot that was addressed in the movie that stands out to me (Out of Gas was a great episode, of course... it's great writing but not a great storyline, I think, if you understand the distinction - if you don't, well I'm not sure I do, honestly; I can feel it more than explain it)... the characters evolved more, some characters left and were replaced and it remained interesting and it was done in a way that felt organic... I also like the characters more, now that you mention it: Crichton is the best character on either show, but I like Aeryn and Chi'ana easily more than anybody on Firefly save Kaylee...
(Alan Tudyk is funny and charming, but I don't really think there's much to Wash beyond relying on Alan Tudyk's charm. I really like the relationship between Nathan and... Gina Torres, whatever her character's name was. Seeing that, I thought she should've been Wonder Woman; were I the show-runner for Supergirl, I would've... well, first I would've made the show good instead of dog shit, but I would've cast Gina as WW and had her make an appearance or two over the course of the first few seasons.)
As far as disconnecting the show from its creator... I mean, my first rule is "are you supporting them"? If you're not, if you already bought the DVD or whatever before learning about their behavior, so that re-watching it doesn't support them financially or otherwise, then it's whatever... but sometimes it's hard to not think about how much someone sucks when watching a show they're on, or wrote for, or music they made, or whatever, and it intrudes on your enjoyment... for Firefly I'd say it's a low buzz at the back of my mind. Not terribly distracting - other people had a hand in it, as far as the writing and even more obviously the cast (it helps, of course, when the people you SEE aren't the problem)... but also I still really like Se7en, and "Men Who Stare At Goats" might be a top-10 movie for me despite Spacey's presence... I used to enjoy Mark Wahlberg as a charismatic actor in light, fun movies (The Other Guys is an all-time comedy); learning about him being a Hate Criminal affects stuff I hadn't seen before learning much more than before, for whatever reason. It's complicated.

The pilot is on my list for this tier. It's not everyone's cup of tea and I'd almost rather do episode 6 and let it stand on its own.

Which is the real reason I didn't do it. Because I'd wanna do all three back-to-back and that would mess up with my current plans so for the next two years it's on hold:)

it was meant for you because you were referring to Nathan Fillion, and I was calling out his name specifically, something I thought relevant after she got it wrong at the start.

Also, I really liked Farscape and I watched it weekly when it was out on SciFi (now SyFy?), but at least for me I find the writing more compelling on Firefly. While Farscape had time to build long backstories, Firefly created characters I cared more about in a shorter time. Loved both shows, just loved one more than the other. That being said, if you can't disconnect the show from it's creator, I guess I can't blame you...

I remember Farscape being mentioned in Community; I don't remember Firefly ever coming up...
I also remember "The Cape". Which had Summer Glau, also in Firefly (and The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the only good post-T2 content worth watching, the only good Terminator with a GoT actress in it as Sarah Connor that's good).

I'm just so resentful of Firefly because it eats up all the attention that Farscape deserves. And I get it: the pilot hits the ground running in a way Farscape's doesn't because the characters - some, at least - have a history, plus 13 episodes and a movie is exponentially more manageable than 88 episodes and 2 movies... but it's a bummer that the show by the sex pest eats up all the attention and Farscape gets nothing; the show that inspired the fantastically popular Guardians of the Galaxy is somehow essentially unheard of.
(Again, similar to how I remain baffled that "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang", the insanely funny movie that got RDJ the role of Iron Man, is a movie nobody has heard of. And it's in the shadow of "The Nice Guys", which simply isn't as good but is infinitely more popular somehow.)
Sorry to be negative, but... I'm going through some stuff.
