Just... what a wild, weird movie. It's not light and breezy and fun like most movies I favor (The Princess Bride, Lucky Number Slevin, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, A Knight's Tale, Walk Hard, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, etc) but it's pretty memorable and unique, I think.
Like Memento, or Se7en, or 12 Monkeys.
I tend to favor the former, I want to introduce you to movies I find endlessly rewatchable and get to see you - hopefully - enjoy them as much as I do. But the latter are pretty worthwhile too. And with Rufus Sewell in this one, I figured it was one that you'd appreciate.

Yeah, I guess it's not a "happy" ending in that they don't get to go back and return to how things were... but they move forward into a brighter future. I definitely think it's an optimistic ending.
Also... the doctor is such a tragic character. You spend so much time unsure of his motives; turns out, being aware of what's been going on is haunting and tragic in a way that we can't even really comprehend.
