I hope you reacted to the theatrical cut of Donnie Darko rather than the director's cut! :D But it's a good movie either way.

2025-01-22 16:16:10 +0000 UTCNo country for old men is an ok movie I just felt it was over-hyped at the time. It is a pretty average movie in my option. I didn't think the villain was all that ground breaking or special so I never understood why critics thought he was so awesome.

2025-01-16 18:02:45 +0000 UTCI did the same. Much like the last two months. But if I suggested a movie I loved- say Blood Simple - that many dislike and someone shat on it... I just don't see the point in being mean. We aren't some great collective but a small close community.

I fucking hate "No Country for Old Men", it's a boring-ass movie that just drags on with no point, no likeable characters... it's one of those Oscar winners that's just a slog to watch, the type of movie that gives the Oscars a reputation for loving pretentious movies for film school people to talk about rather than entertaining movies that are enjoyable to actually watch... Ugh. I voted on "Donnie Darko" to get it 1 vote behind... not a huge fan but it's good, interesting, really strong cast... "Walk Hard" (far and away my #1 pick) jumped out to a lead, but of course that didn't last. Damn it. Guess I'll have to hope for a pick I like vs the one I truly wanted...
