This animation style is really quite unique. They use a combination of 3D computer animation (for the characters and the environment), and 2D hand-drawn animation (for the effects). When you finish watching season 1, you should check out Bridging the Rift, a 5-part documentary about making Arcane season 1. It's freely available on YouTube. They explain everything, from the writing of this show, to animation, to music and sound design.
