Final tip: I find it's easier to draw your sketch when you can see the whole pose. Try to stay zoomed-out vs zoomed-in as we tend to hyper focus on details when we're too close.
These are tips that I've learned through trial and error and I've come to recognize them rather easily. That doesn't mean I don't still make these mistakes from time to time, however these tools have helped me reduce them and be more mindful.
