Countertransference! Binge & Purge Cycle | Narrative Therapy | Childhood Trauma Recovery

1. Hey Kati!! Hope you are well! I am wondering - how does one deal with counter transference, especially when you’ve got your stuff still to be processed through? 

2. And secondly, I’ve been able to maintain balance in my life with the one exception - I am binging and purging a lot more, is this an illusion of control then?

3. I've started trauma therapy/narrative therapy with my new therapist and... it is WAY easier than with my last therapist but it is still really fucking hard (like back to feeling like I ran a marathon at the end of every session like when I first started therapy years ago)... but my understanding is the idea is telling trauma stories several times over several different weeks to titrate the process makes things easier and brings up different details each time.  Do you believe this is helpful?  Do you believe changing the narrative of your trauma is a key to overcoming it?  Lastly, do you believe that saying details aloud, specifically using anatomically correct language to describe it, etc, is actually useful, or mostly re-traumatizing?  Thank you so so very much!

4. How can you heal from PTSD as an adult from traumatic experiences that happened in childhood?
